BMS module A0009823217 – crash record reset

This is the 48V lithium-ion battery with integrated BMS of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Boost system. After a crash the battery switches off and keeps the record. On many models the engine is started by the 48V system, so the car may not start at all until the record is cleared.

What this module does

This is the 48V lithium-ion battery with integrated BMS of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Boost system. After a crash the battery switches off and keeps the record. On many models the engine is started by the 48V system, so the car may not start at all until the record is cleared.

How we clear the crash record

Clearing can be done via OBD, on the bench or via JTAG – depending on the condition of the battery. Send us the exact part number from the label.

Price: between 80 and 250 € depending on the method, confirmed in advance.

Safety first: we clear the crash record in the BMS electronics only for a battery that has been inspected and declared safe – visual check of the housing and cables, insulation resistance test (at least 100 Ω/V per SAE J2990 / FMVSS 305) and a cell-voltage check. On high-voltage batteries (above 60 V) the work on the battery itself must be done by a qualified high-voltage technician. If there is deformation, a leak, smell, heat or poor insulation, the battery is not reactivated. The airbag system is repaired first, otherwise the crash signal is sent again.
  1. Send us the part number of the module through the form or a photo of the label on WhatsApp – we confirm the price (between 80 and 250 €) and the time.
  2. The battery is inspected by your workshop (visual check, insulation, cells) and the module is removed following the manufacturer procedure – or we work via OBD where the part number allows it.
  3. We make a full memory backup, clear the crash record and the fault codes.
  4. We ship the module back by courier; after fitting, the system is reactivated following the manufacturer procedure.
